About HBL Power Systems Ltd

HBL Power Systems Ltd. (originally HBL Nife Ltd. India) started manufacturing pocket plate nickel cadmium batteries under license from Nife Batteries (Sweden) in 1977. The batteries were based on designs developed by Nife Batteries, in the early 1900’s that are still regarded by many as the most reliable batteries manufactured today.

HBL licensed fiber plate technology in 1994 from DUAG (Germany) permitting HBL to manufacture a full range of fiber plate nickel cadmium batteries in addition to pocket plate cells.

Today HBL manufactures a full range of nickel cadmium batteries in all technologies in a new (2007) world-class facility certified to the latest ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 Standards. It has some of the most modern battery factories in the world and over two million square feet of manufacturing space. HBL’s stock is publicly traded on the BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) and NSE (National Stock Exchange) in India.
